In the first Heloise entry I talked about my Mema’s original copy of Heloise’s Housekeeping Hints. You can read that one here–> https://literarygormandizer.com/2019/09/12/heloise-pt1/

I love that book so much that I was looking for others and found this volume from a seller on Etsy. It’s old, it’s stained, I love it. I asked my husband and kids to get it for me for Christmas since it was right around that time. They’re the best because come Christmas Day, there it was under the tree. I wish I had a picture of the striped tissue it was wrapped in. The seller, shame on me I don’t know their name, put red and white twine around it and everything. It even had a handmade Christmas tree bookmark included.

The above sentence stood out to me the first time I read the book. It’s in a chapter about making dinner easier and more efficiently. I love the words “recklessly violent” appearing in a vintage homemaking book.

I hope that eventually I will find more of these. I know that there are newer books by Heloise but I am particularly drawn to the older style.
